Text Message Terms

Keptslot sends appointment texts to people who book through it and ask for them. This page explains when that happens, what you agreed to, and how to stop it. It forms part of the Terms of Service, which incorporate it.

Who sends these messages

Messages are sent by Keptslot, and are about an appointment you booked through Keptslot. They name the business you booked with, because that is what the appointment is for — but the business does not text you itself, and it cannot use Keptslot to send you anything else.

If a business has text messages switched off, we send none for its bookings, and its booking page does not ask for a mobile number.

The short version

• Message frequency varies.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
• We do not sell or share your mobile number, or the fact that you gave it to us, with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

How you opt in

Every text Keptslot sends is about an appointment you booked yourself. There is no other way onto the list. We do not buy numbers, and businesses cannot upload them.

1. You open a business's booking page on Keptslot and choose a service and a time.
2. On the details step you are asked for your name, your email address, and — optionally — your mobile number. The phone field is not required, and the booking completes without it.

3. Below that field is a checkbox. It is not ticked for you, and the booking completes whether or not you tick it. It reads:

Keptslot can text me about this appointment

By checking this box you consent to receive text messages from Keptslot about this appointment with [the business you are booking]. Reply STOP to opt out, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply; frequency may vary. Terms · Privacy Policy

The business's own name appears where the brackets are. A business that books meetings rather than appointments shows the same wording with "meeting" in place of "appointment". A business that has text messages switched off does not show the checkbox at all, and sends none.

4. Ticking that box is the opt-in. Leaving it unticked means no texts — your number is not sent to us at all — and your booking still goes through.

Consent to receive texts is separate from making the booking. It is never bundled into another agreement, and it is never a condition of booking.

There is no other route to consent. We do not accept numbers collected anywhere else, and a business cannot add one on your behalf.

What we send

Only messages about your own booking: a confirmation, a reminder before the appointment, and a note if it is moved or cancelled. These are transactional messages.

We never send marketing texts, and a business cannot use Keptslot to send you any. Attempting to place marketing content in a transactional message breaches the Acceptable Use Policy.

Message frequency depends on your appointment. A single booking that is not changed usually means one confirmation and one reminder.

Cost

Keptslot does not charge you, the recipient, anything. Message and data rates may apply from your own mobile carrier.

Businesses pay for text messages out of a monthly allowance included in their plan. If a business's allowance runs out, its texts stop until it is renewed or topped up. Email still goes out, and bookings still complete — nobody is ever prevented from booking because a business ran out of credits.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message. This works at any time and takes effect immediately.

Reply HELP for help, or email support@keptslot.com.

You can also simply not give a mobile number, or ask the business to remove it. Your confirmation and any changes then reach you by email instead.

Stopping texts does not cancel your appointment. It changes only how we reach you about it.

Where we send

Keptslot currently sends text messages to numbers in the United States and Canada only.

A booking made with a number outside those countries still completes, and its confirmation and reminders arrive by email.
